I love great brands – especially when there is a face of the business – Steve Jobs, Seth Godin, Branson, Martha. As you read these names, images, feelings, experiences start to emerge. That’s a big part of your brand. What do people think, feel and experience when that think of you?
One of my favorite new brands is this guy: Larry Winget.
Here’s why:
1. He is bold. (Transparency)
2. He always dresses the same – I counted 6 versions of the same shirt – and it’s congruent with his bold, no BS, fierce brand (Consistency)
3. He has one platform; personal accountability, and he expresses it in many ways. (Commitment)
4. His web site is loud, slightly obnoxious and is all about being big, visible and “the buck stops here”. He clearly makes no apologies for who he is, and what he stands for. (Authenticity)
5. His look, feel and voice all work together. (Alignment)
Like him or not, he has a brilliant brand.
